STEP 01 OF 07
Your engineer checks the boiler is working as you describe, then removes the casing to look for leaks, corrosion, scorching and water damage, and checks the case seals that keep combustion gases out of your home.
STEP 02 OF 07
A flue gas analyser samples what comes out of the flue. The CO and CO2 readings show whether the boiler is burning cleanly and safely, and the flue is checked for secure joints and correct clearances.
STEP 03 OF 07
The burner, heat exchanger and ignition and flame sensing electrodes are inspected and cleaned where the manufacturer calls for it, so the boiler lights reliably and passes heat into the water efficiently.
STEP 04 OF 07
Inlet and working gas pressures are measured and set to the manufacturer figures, and gas connections are checked, because the wrong pressure is a common cause of poor ignition and lockouts.
STEP 05 OF 07
The condensate trap and pipe are checked and cleaned. In winter a blocked or frozen condensate pipe is one of the most common reasons a modern combi boiler stops working.
STEP 06 OF 07
Controls, the PCB and the safety devices are tested so the boiler shuts down safely if anything goes wrong, and system pressure and the expansion vessel are checked.
STEP 07 OF 07
The boiler is reassembled, fired up and tested under load. The results go in your boiler service record, which most manufacturers need to keep the warranty valid.
